Introduction
Shiprocket is India's leading eCommerce shipping platform that provides access to multiple courier partners. This guide will walk you through creating an API user in Shiprocket and connecting it with Returndotai Returns for automated return label generation.
Access this feature
Navigate to /settings/logistic in your application.
Step 1: Create API User
Register with Shiprocket
First, you need to register with ShipRocket and create an account. Click on this link to complete the sign-up process: https://www.shiprocket.in

Create an API User
After the sign-up process is complete, follow the enlisted steps to create an API user:
- 1Open your Shiprocket account and navigate to the left-hand panel
- 2Click On Settings => API => Configure => Create an API user
- 3On the pop-up menu, fill in the email (this should be different from the one used to register to ShipRocket)
- 4Fill in an appropriate password and confirm the password
- 5Save your API user credentials for later use

Step 2: Connect to Shiprocket in the Returndotai Returns app
Navigate to Shiprocket Integration
Go to Settings -> Logistics -> Shiprocket. Click on the Connect button.

Enter API User Credentials
Enter the email and password just created above and click Connect.
- 1Enter the API user email (different from your main Shiprocket account email)
- 2Enter the password you created for the API user
- 3Click "Connect" to establish the connection
- 4Wait for confirmation that the connection is successful

Step 3: Configure Settings
Configure Package Settings
After connecting:
- 1Set your default package sizes and types
- 2Make sure method "Ship with pre-paid label" is enabled

Step 4: Test the Connection
Create Test Return Request
Before going live:
- 1Create a test return request on return page
- 2Choose "Ship pre-paid label" for return method
- 3Note: This method is only displayed on return page if you enable it in the app as mentioned in Step 3

Submit and Verify Label
- 1Submit the test return request
- 2Go into the app, open this request at "Return management" tab
- 3Click to approve the request
- 4Select the appropriate shipping carrier if prompted
- 5Verify that the label is created correctly and contains accurate information
- 6Check that all shipment details match your expectations

Important Notes
Use Different Email for API User
The API user email must be different from your main Shiprocket account email. Use a unique email address when creating the API user.
Secure Your API Credentials
Keep your API user email and password secure. These credentials provide access to your Shiprocket shipping functionality.
Enable Pre-Paid Labels
Remember to enable "Ship with pre-paid label" in your settings, or customers won't see this option on the return page.
Test Before Going Live
Always create a test return request and verify that labels are generated correctly before enabling the integration for customers.
